I got my Kodak ZI8 video camera today. After reading recommendations of real estate blogging gurus, I finally gave in. At least partially. I got the portable HD video camera. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to step out of my comfort zone and start video taping myself. Here’s  support for my reservations.

Either way, I took the camera with me to Lake Stevens today. (I’m not sure what I was more excited about, showing homes to my buyers or showing off my new ZI8 :).

To help my buyers better remember what a home looks like, a while back I started taking some on-the-fly real estate videos with my blackberry. Today, I was shooting HD  video of homes in Lake Stevens with my brand new Kodak ZI8.

Again, I uploaded it to Youtube with no video editing. I only quickly added background music for better viewing experience. I must admit the camera is easy to use and the quality is pretty good.

So, for now I’ll continue to use the camera to take videos of homes. I might also purchase a wide angle lens for better shooting of home interior. Overall, I’m happy with the purchase and agree that it’s a good tool for a real estate business.
