Serhiy Onyshchuk / KW Marysville – Northwest WA Real Estate, Call 425.610.SOLD (7653)

From the blog:

Old Marysville HouseLast week, I was driving through one of the neighborhoods in Marysville. A teenager friend was with me in the car.

All of the sudden she said, “I hope I can buy this house one day!”

Real estate was not the topic of our discussion (yes, real estate agents do talk about other matters, sometimes :), so I was caught a little off guard. I quickly looked at the house she pointed at.

Honestly, I wouldn’t be eager to buy that house. It was an older rambler located on one of the major streets in Marysville. I immediately started thinking about the age of the roof, outdated fixtures, traffic on the street…

Then, I thought to myself, what if I were selling this home? I surely would want to meet someone excited about this house!

It turned out that the front yard looked very “neat and clean”, so it looked like “nice people” lived in the house and they must have “taken care of the house”, so it would be a “nice house” to buy!

Honestly, there was nothing extraordinary about the front yard but it did look better than most others on the street.

It proves one more time that presentation matters. And while some people struggle to sell their house, somebody gets a knock on the door, “Can I buy your house, please?
